Here's a preview of a project I've been working on for awhile - Seventh Sanctum's sister site - Fan To Pro.
The intro post says it all, but for awhile a friend and I had been kicking around a book on how to help people turn fannish/geekery areas into careers. But we ran into a lot of issues, from having to do job searches ourselves, to constantly modifying our plans.
So we're doing a blog to post findings, stimulate discussion, and see if it helps people. Maybe it'll spawn a book - maybe the blog will be it. Who knows. We're going to give it a year or so to see what comes of it - and believe me, we have enough material to post for awhile.
The idea is that if Seventh Sanctum is about stimulating creativity, Fan To Pro is going to be how you can apply it to careers.
It goes "Live" on the 26th, but you're seeing it now! We're also going to announce it at Anime North as part of a panel on careers!
I should note it's ALSO run by typepad, which is good as I'm not up for more coding . . .
