Okay, let's here it. What animals take up our attention outside of the sanctum?
Our family has three cats, Spice, Maya, and Kyrra. Spice is the oldest and, until recently, has owned me and, more specifically, the last foot of my bed. She at least 14 and hasn't so much grown old as grown cranky and tough in her old age. She now sleeps only on the heated waterbed, but occasionally gets up the energy to take one of the other two to the cleaners.
Maya is the second oldest and, at 6 pounds, the smallest. She is terrified of everything. I made a list at one point...ah, here it is.
Maya is afraid of:
thunderstorms
Kyrra
cars
snow
vaccum cleaners
strangers
the house's basement storage
her own image (not kidding about this)
very long grass
freshly mowed grass
fireworks
lawnmower
birds
any animal
any reptile
being alone
the bubbles in the water dish supply tank
being attacked from behind
being attacked from above
being picked up
crashing dishes/pot lids
really loud alarm clocks
really loud noises in general (loud music included)
feet
dogs
outside in general
...
She's pretty much frigtened of everything that moves fast, makes lound noises, or is new and unfamilar. The only things she isn't afraid of include small balls of paper, bugs, and dairy products.
Kyrra is another matter entirely. She the just over a year and about 11 pounds of feline ADD. She had brough home birds, voles, mice, large bugs, squirrels, chipmunks (specifically the same chimpmunk, at least 4xs) and a baby snake. She's gone after rabbits, a groundhog three times her size, and a full grown deer. She beat up Maya until Maya took it out of her hide one evening and now they just sort of wrestle. The only thing she is actually really frightened of is Spice. She's the only cat I've ever had that screens people at the door when they come in.
Enough of my kittes, what other fuzzies (scalies, featheries, or otherwise) does everyone else have?
