No doubt Peter Jackson is going to write Lord of the Rings 4 now. Nope - but Guillermo del Toro is doing The Hobbit - and a sequel set in between it and LOTR. I don't know how I feel about this. 
And I did forget The Forbidden Kingdom, Holypants. Thanks for reminding me. That should be pretty epic.

Oh I'll be seeing that. As for the new Indiana Jones (which I remember hearing about years, and years ago) it's called "The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" isn't it? Seriously, how much do you think they paid Anacharis to let them film a movie about Intli? |

Oh man. That'll be terrifying and grand.
Really, though, you're right - the sixty years between Bilbo and Frodo are pretty much the most boring in the history of Middle Earth. They could do a bit on Frodo's parents drowning, and a bit on Gollum between disappearing from the Misty Mountains and being caught by Gandalf, and a bit on the Necromancer, and maybe even a bit on young Aragorn and still-fairly-old Arwen, and maybe a bit on Balin heading into Moria, but who knows? Holy heck, I forgot about Forbidden Kingdom. I'll probably just end up renting it. The sad thing about where I live, as opposed to where I used to live is
that movie theaters are no longer within walking distance.
At any rate, I just watched Batman Begins on TV. So I'm totally seeing The Dark Knight. In the meantime, there were a frillion and a half commercials for Speed Racer. I'm still not sure about that one; part of my brain really wants to see it for the eye candy, but the rational part of my brain thinks I might have a hallucinogenic experience if I do go. |

 That's one of the nicest things anyone's ever said to me.

Mountains! Isn't that the one where they go to the temple and there's *tries to remember* .. yeah, it's Lovecraft, isn't it. I remember playing
Prisoner Of Ice on the PC, that was kinda based on the Mountains of Madness.
Re Cynical Bean: He does it on MSN as well, there's no escape. I, luckily, am the naive non-cynical not-sure-what-he-is English teenager. I hear they're supposed to be doing a remake of Plan 9 at some point. |
