Cor, to heck with that. I finished writing book reviews in Junior High. Suffice to say, if you like the universe, or Sci-Fi books about war, consider picking this one up.

I've been reading a few books from the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Most recently, I have perused the omnibus titled 'The Founding,' about an
Imperial Guard regiment known as the Tanith First-and-Only. I truly enjoyed this...

Because sometimes you just have to ask yourself "How does one fight an indestructible being that moves faster
than time?"

Funny, there's this one guy that I know that is always trying to convince people to read the Warhammer 40,000 books, but he can never get anyone to read
them, besides his friends and all those who already have. But he talks about it's awesomeness very much.

I'm reading "e" by Matt Beaumont, the first book that was written entirely in e-mails. So far the events have covered about three days, half the
staff have been fired and I am being amused by the character from Helsinki.
Everything we do is a choice. Oatmeal or cereal, highway or side streets, kiss her or keep her, we make
choices and we live with the consequences. If someone gets hurt along the way we ask for forgiveness, it's the best anyone can do.

I've been reading Antigone. Three different versions by Sophocles, Anouilh and Brecht. The first two are brilliant but I don't think that I will ever
get used to Brecht's style of theatre... the characters come out as mere ciphers rather than emotional human beings. Somehow, this is connected to his
Marxist philosophies but... he just reduces human beings to a scary level of unimportance.

Right now, "Hard Times" by Charles Dickens and 'Habibi" by Naomi Shihab Nye.
Hard Times is, well, a Charles Dickens book so I won't expand on it. But "Habibi" is quite good so far. It's written by a woman who I originally discovered to be a poet, as my mom loves poetry, and reads it quite a lot and told me to get the book because that was her favorite poet, well, she didn't exactly tell me to, just suggested it. So I got it. And it really is quite good! It's written in such a way that even if the story was bad, you would want to keep on reading it anyway for everything else that she adds into it. |

I'm picking up some of my old books on Taoist Philosophy. I forgot how fascinating 'Original Tao' was - the evidence is pretty clear that the Tao
Te Ching was actually not a foundational document people assumed.
OK, I'm the only one who got excited about it. |

Reading the latest Fortean Times! I just got through an article on The Crying Boy Urban Legend, and that of the Vegetable Lambs, along with some interesting
UFO reports that include a description of someone apparently experiencing a blast of force to or from his testicles.

So, Lord Dunsany's seminal work, The Gods of Pegana, is pretty much crazy
awesome. Just for reference.
