What can I say?
He was one of the people who defined my life.
He helped create the game that inspired an industry, computer games, and more. No D&D, no talking to my friends about their WOW addiction or wondering WTF is up with a Final Fantasy Plot.
D&D and Champions, and other RPGs, are how I met most of my friends in high school and college.
They're how enough of a gaming industry evolved that I actually WROTE some RPGs professionally.
Its how I got into reading fantasy, not just science fiction. D&D is why I enjoyed Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser and more.
So what can I say?
Thanks Gary.
