Then the person next decides how we leave the room, and does it again . . Let's go!

This room is infamous - its a music room, yet no sound can be heard anywhere. It has stringless harps and pianos without keys. So where do we move on from here - I think I see a door behind a tapestry . . .

The walls, tables, and countertops of this kitchen all run slick with fresh blood, seeping from every nook and cranny. Fortunately, the floor slopes down to a drain in the centre; otherwise, we'd be knee-deep in it. Posts: 3374 (08/19/07 23:45:18) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Having no qualms about touching blood and even stopping to take a taste sample, I push aside the cupboard and reveal a door leading us to the Mine of the Vipers. We stand on a high ledge overlooking a large pit of venomous snakes. There is a switch to lower the bridge ... but it is on the other side of the snake pit. Someone needs to crawl through the snakes to get it so we can reach the door on the far side. Let's draw straws again.

Oh no, the floor of the pit is an illusion, we tumble forth into the Vipers' Labrynth(sic)! Great. Well, regardless, this is going to take some time to get out of, the labyrinth is massive and coiled like a giant snake. The walls even seem to be scaled. But maybe there's an exit at the fork up ahead?

Nervously we walk down the dank and scaled hallways, and our torch is snuffed out. It is quickly followed by a rather discourteous series of bludgeonings. * * * As, one by one we come to, we find ourselves outdoors- at least somewhat. We are in a lush, high-walled garden, richly green and filled with flowers that almost seem to glow with moonlight. The sky above is a royal purple, speckled with stars. A fountain babbles in the center of the courtyard, the water in its basins covered in a thin skein of oil that burns pale and blue, somehow aflame despite the churning of tiny waterfalls. It can only be the Courtyard of Flames and Stars. There is a heavy, wrought-iron door in the wall, bolted from outside. The air is scented and oddly heavy, thick with smoke and flowers and incense. It kinda' makes you sleepy, doesn't it? And the fountain's so soothing. Nothing like the sound o' a babbling brooke to help you get your forty winks, Am I right?. And the grass is so soft. It seems like the perfect place to take a nap. We can worry about getting out later, right? Right... of... course... Yawn. Wait...do you smell something burning? Nevermind- I'm sure it's nothing... ZZZZ-zzzzzz ZZZZ-zzzzzzz ZZZZ-zzzzzz.... ________________ Page 00054: They aren't pebbles.

Posts: 523 (08/20/07 12:15:37) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Despite our the tempting call of sweet, sweet sleep yawn we yawn oh bother... zzzz As we fall asleep one by one, I fall against the gate pushing it open. A cold, icy air awakens us all. On the other side is the Barbarian's Walkway where the sound of steel on steel can be heard over the cries of the wounded and the dying. A cold northern wind, laden with snow and sleet, blows nearly horizontal. On the other side of the narrow walkway there is a heavy wooden door...if only one of us will brave the battle-crazed, fur and armor clad berserkers to open it. anacharis is thrown out on to the walkway so the sleet will put out the fire.

I storm resolutely down the walkway ahead, flinching only ever so slightly as throwing axes and fiery arrows swirl in the blizzard around me. ...Ah damn, I've been hit by one or three. Hi-Potion, anyone? I manage to drag myself over to the door, which melts at my touch to reveal a set of stairs leading down to a vast underground coliseum, circular and Cyclopean, with a multitude of entrances on all sides. In the centre, a massive figure reclines on the sand. He rumbles as he spots us. "Oho! Visitors! Here, lemme tell you the way out. Take any one of these here doors, but not this one!" He points threateningly at a modest archway. "This one here leads to the worst room you've ever heard of! It'll skin your eyeballs and tie them in ribbons, it'll tear out your kneecaps and feed them to crows!" Oh dear. Being the logical and most importantly, sane, person I am, I am NOT going to go through the door indicated by the giant. I have all of these other options. And he already said no...listen to magical creatures who give you advice. So I make my way down the stairs to one of the archways and make my way down it. It dead ends--there is a garderobe (which, as far as I can figure, is a wardrobe). Upon opening said garderobe, bodies spill out nearly waist deep. Some of them have been stabbed in the back, others have been poisioned, several have been strangled. This must be the Charnel Garderobe of the Assasin. Now which one of us will be daring enough to wade through the bodies and open the door at the back of the garderobe?

I'll do it, if only to escape the stench. Carefully I make my way through the deceased (I do hope that crunching isn't a ribcage) and kick open the door at the far end. Ah, stairs. Up and away! The stairs seem to spiral for hours, dark granite stones however begin to give way to marble until at last we emerge into the top of the Hallowed Minaret of Coins. The walls are piled high with uncountable coins of all shapes, sizes, and materials. I pocket a spoked wooden 5 mark piece for good luck, then look around for an exit. Short of going back through the garderobe (I think not!) there seems to be a rope leading out of one of the windows. But to where it leads, I can not tell. It's a dark, and just a touch stormy, night outside.

There is silence for about two minutes while everyone subconciously tries to control the others minds so they offer to go. "Fine, I'll do it," I say in the end (eliciting a whispered, "Yes!" from Boss). I grab the rope and shimmy up and out of the window. The cool breeze brushes against my cheek as I leap down. I'm in a garden filled to bursting with beautiful flowers of every species. Intricate fountains shoot water all over the garden, above my head. The place seems inbued with magic. This must be the oft-marvelled Elf's Garden. The door is on the other side of the garden. I don't think I want to leave though.
