If you were to become a supervillain, how would it happen, what would it be like - and what would you call yourself? |

I'd just want to cull the human race, just keeping the great scientists of the world to help restore Earth for animals to live without our interference again. I don't think I'd be evil, but since I'm committing mass genocide, everyone would think I was. I wouldn't have a special name. Professor M. Ritchie will do!

I'd become obsessed with evolving humanity into a new, advanced form. To this end I'd probably engage in all sorts of experiments - but with volunteers who felt the way I did.
My henchmen would, of course, all be highly evolved. Some would even be genetically engineered animals. And my name would probably be something like Hyperion. |

Ooh, ooh, ooh, I was actually talking about this today.
I wouldn't name myself, I'd most likely be a very... modest/inconspicuous supervillain. Of course I'd know I was only doing that to increase the respect my minions have for me. But since it's my fantasy, I'll assume I'll eventually get a nickname like "Doctor" or "Professor". Something short and sweet. We would be a network of assasins and thieves. Cultured, decent assasins and thieves. We'd have a secret center of operations in a remote location, and would start by infiltrating major academic institutions and making a self-contained database of Information. All of it. Scientific knowledge, literature... and then we'd start stealing the great masterpieces, keeping them preserved in an enormous underground vault. When everything is safe, and we've gotten ourselves a pretty secure setup... we simultaneously assasinate every major world leader and their backup, and destroy the records of every credit card company/repository of wealth. And then we sit back and see how the human race handles it. ^_^ |

Ah, supervillain. I must say, it looks like an awesome career path. I'd have several reasons to become a supervillain.
Though, two potential reasons that would shine the most are these, probably combined with each other. Getting rid of the killjoys in society and having an identity crisis and realizing that I don't wanna be good. I wanna be bad. Bad as I wanna be. B-b-b-b-bad to the bone. I'm talking real bad. Micheal Jackson when he was still cool bad. A bad enough dude to save the president. Bad. Ahem, sorry, I got carried away. In the case of the first, I would realize that people aren't enjoying life as much as they should be. Not just in a single nation, but worldwide. I would use my powers/fortune/henchmen/genetically engineered HORRORS AND ABOMBINATIONS AGAINST NATURE/genius/copy of the Necronomicon/whatever to eliminate everything that I percieved was keeping humans unhappy. However, I would not discriminate if something was "good" or "bad", only if people were unhappy with it. And, even when something "bad" was done away with, it would be done in a manner where even the most hotblooded vigilantes would say "WOAH BUDDY! Take a chill pill.". In short, I would strive to create a sort of utopia, where everybody is happy simply because there is nothing to keep them unhappy. A good idea, in theory, but carried out in a very extreme, supervillain manner. My henchmen would all be people that I've saved from the brink of despair, unhappy with the world around them. When not creating havoc for me, they would be enjoying themselves in my "Fort of Fun". As for a name, it's hard to think up a good one when your driving force as a supervillain is "I JUST WANT EVERYBODY TO BE HAPPY". Perhaps I'd be...CONTENTMENT CRUSADER! Or something along those lines. Of course, it's also possible I'd also pick up supervillainry up as a hobby, then gradually bring myself into it full time. You know, just for fun. I probably wouldn't do anything major, just enough to keep myself going and attract a nemesis. |

I have two ideal super-villainous ideas:
In situation number one, I too, would probably strive for a utopia, but more along the lines of Death Note, where I would be killing criminals. So I would have a group of super-awesome ninja/assasin/genetically modified humans whom I would order to kill criminals. Not the petty criminals, mind, just the big fish at first: the murderers and rapists, the grand theives and child molestors. All in an effort to show the world what happens when they commited crimes, because the justice system is corrupt and does not deal with the criminals as they should. Of course, all the assasinations would be dealt with in style. My assasin/ninja/genetically modified humans would wear classy outfits and work only at night, and they'd always leave some sort of revealing clue... a message that we were responsible. Maybe a rose. Maybe I'd be called The Vigilante, or maybe the Night Rose. In situation two, I'd be a pirate queen, sailing the oceans on my very own vessel which looks to be circa seventeenth century, but was really outfitted with highly technological achievements so that it could never be caught, and it would be super strong and fast and have lots of cool weaponry. We would sack large port cities for a day or two, raiding everywhere we thought had valuables, and then leave it the way we found it, minus most everything of worth. Heh. My salty crew of sea tars would be expert sailors, and expert fighters in everything from swords, martial arts, guns, etc. I'd be called the Pirate Queen, or perhaps something more delicate but which still struck fear into the hearts of all sailors. The navies of every country would hate us, since we always elude their grasp. Heh. It sounds like I've thought this out, doesn't it. But I haven't. I made all this up on the spot. But it does sound like fun, doesn't it? |

My super-villain would be elegant, with a great sense of style. She'd have a sharp wit and intellect and would take great delight in being the mastermind behind something. She wouldn't be overt in the slightest. She'd be careful to keep her interests hidden. She would lie, seduce, manipulate and charm to achieve her ends and would generally be incredibly successful. And she would enjoy it all immensely. I picture her either in a modern setting, or in Venice.

I'd just like to go criminally insane, but have a huge huge boost to my brain power. That way I could just... up and get away with stuff like murderin', pillagin' and rapin', and no one would suspect me.
The freedom of being insane and simply *not caring* what you're doing, would be the key. Otherwise I only want the utopia thing - as listed above - where the bad people are punished. Hard. No, harder than that. Though... nah, that's for another thread. |
