Or do you know exactly how a story's going to go, but you're not happy with the way it looks on paper?
Or you have a great vision of a future artwork, but it never turns out right?
How do you deal with it?

Do you ever have this great idea, but just can't manage to get it on paper?

Yes, yes, and even more yes. So damn frustrating. What I usually do is write it down (or doodle it, if it's art) as best I can at the time, so as not to forget it, and then come back to it later on, when I feel better and can start afresh. It doesn't always work, and sometimes I have to repeat the process more than once (or indefinitely, in some cases), but it's better than pushing too hard to get it right the first time and ending up just getting more hopeless.
I hear deals with the Devil work fairly well too, at least in the short term. ----- ~ Wolfgang Kaiser, Zeppelin Vigilante ~ "Kidnapping Nubile Victorian Ladies Since 1867" |

This always happens to me ... I've got a billion ideas but not very much motivation to write anything down. I need to change that...

My issue is time. If I can get into my right brain space, I seem to be able to write pretty much what I want first time around. I rewrite, ofcourse, A LOT. But I never really start off feeling despondent that I can't get my point across... the point is there it just isn't perfectly shaped yet... until the last draft where I get close enough to happy.
One trick is, I found, that you take some really random, boring object, and try to make it sound as interesting as possible. If you ccan surround a bedside table with atmosphere, than other things seem easy by comparison. |

My problem has always been (besides writers block) too many ideas for the page. That is why I set everthing in the same (or similar) world. When I need something new, it expands, and when I finally run out of space or hit the Wall (read:writers block) I start a parallell story.

Alot of times when i'm inspired to draw an epic character, I go to draw it and add it to my "Compendium"(its just a bright green 3ring
binder),but when I try to draw the character, it sucks.I've attempted to fix this problem by not drawing faces, but that doesnt really help.So then I think:

Yeah, that always, always happens to me. I get this wonderful idea in my head for what should happen next in my story, and then I reread it.. and it sucks. And
that makes me very sad, because it was a good idea to begin with. Or I try and draw something, yes. But, it might also help if I was actually good at drawing
things, and not the sort of person who fails miserably at it. Ah well, I'm sure that someday someone will come up with some way to transport our ideas
directly onto paper without our having to muddle around and try to fix it. That would be great. And, you should all remember my name, as I am going to go down
in history as the "anonymous mouse" who prophesied the coming of the creator of this grand idea. All hail me!!

You mean something possibly maybe a little bit like this, perhaps? The future is going to be so awesome. I can't wait to get there. "Kidnapping Nubile Victorian Ladies Since 1867" |

So, so, what? I still prophesied it!,, you can't take all the credit!!!!!! Nah, just kidding.
But I'm not the first person to tell people about this?>! Noooooo! I shall have to find you and make sure that you edit and get rid of that thread- thus making me the first person to tell anyone about this, watchamacallit. |
