The idea in this thread is to state some wacky, inane, experiment that seemingly has no purpose except...for SCIENCE!!! For example: Scientists have engineered a trio of fluffy, green caterpillars that can flip upside-down and move around on the spines on their backs. Why? SCIENCE!!! After a decade of research, a group of researchers have successfully altered the appearance of the sperm whale to resemble actual sperm. Why? SCIENCE!!! I think you get the idea.

Why? *SCIENCE!!!* By genetically engineering mice with fluorescent green neurons, scientists are finally able to tell what happens when people feel cold. Because now knowing that little tit-bit was killing me. Why? SCIENCE!!! Independent studies have finally achieved their goal of converting the texture of the colour khaki into a flavour. Why? SCIENCE!!! A homegrown genius whose studies into the muscle movements that form the word "fluoride" has managed to mimic these patterns in the adult guinea pig. Why? SCIENCE!!!
