Eeeuuurrgghh. that really does suck. I left DA because of crap like that. I dunno, you'd have to ask X if there's any way to bribe Yuku into getting rid of them, we could take up a collection via paypal or something.
Then again, most of us are students, so the whole giving money thing might not be all that feasable...

that said, I'm a bit ashamed to admit I've got a sort of a sick fascination with Scientology. I mean, sure, it's a scam, and the Church has hurt a lot of people, but if you get into the whole Space Opera cosmology of it, if you read the OT levels (which I swear to Cthulhu I didn't illegally download or anything...) it's just interesting from a literary standpoint. Not actually good, but interesting. You've got this sort of gnostic cosmology involving the thetans, these god-things severed from their powers by traumatic events and enslaved, and then superimposed on that are these impossibly long aeons in which civilizations on countless planets expand and fall and everything and inflict different flavors of unpleasantness upon the constantly-reincarnated thetans and fight epic wars across galaxies, and here and there you'll get the odd interlude which takes place before the universe or in heaven or wherever, right, but it follows this dreary, surreal nightmare-logic and is completely divorced from the rest of the cosmology.
And on top of that, the whole thing is entirely patched together out of bits and pieces of mid-twentieth-century Americana in a sort of pseudo-Dadist cultural collage. It's really, really surreal, having these alien cultures that're older than the universe, only the people there drive Fords and wear ties and fedoras, and use movie theatres and amusement parks for torture chambers.


... but then again, this is coming from a guy who just wrote up a paragraph of Lit-crit on Scientology, so make of that what you will.
