Alas, in the commercial bustle of the modern world, one of the great, historical traditions that marks this time of year has been, sadly, neglected.
I am talking, of course, about the venerable tradition of gathering 'round the fire and scaring the crap out of one another.
Thusly, your challenge is to create a ghost story. There's no real urgency- you've till the end of Christmastide (that is to say, January Sixth in the Year Two Thousand Eight). So take your time, hold it in your mind as you would a gemstone, polish it, let it sparkle, and then regale us with your tale of terror and delight!
Good luck, and Yuletide Felicitations to you all!
