I used to have a malamute... she was beautiful, but purebreds just don't seem to have the life-expectancy of hybrids. At the moment, living in my apartment, I only have one pet - a beautiful kitten cat called Guiness (being a brown burmese, she is precisely the colour of the beer...)

They have, in the past, interbred with wolves. Though now they're probably not any closer to wolves than other breeds of dog, like huskies they retain a somewhat wolfish appearance.

I'm not so sure about the wolf part, my Lord. That particular dog's just big fuzzy tank right now.

On the other hand, I've never seen Kyra panic quite like that before. She was all right provided she was on the other side of a glass door, being held, and was fully aware that the dog had no more chance of working the doorknob that she did. But when they first met without the glass door...well...peace talks were interupted by the arrival of my aunt and cousins, but Krya...

See, if I were to ever get a dog, it'd be a DOG. None of this small fluffy yippy crap, nothing that looks like a mop or a rat with a large head. A DOG.

Which is why I like Malimutes.

My aunt and uncle have a Alaskian Malimute, which is a bit wolf-like, but, really, she's just a spoiled attention-sponge. She's had to have major surgery on one of her back legs, so I feel kind bad for her.

How did you get those six cats to all sit still AND face the camera! And that albino one looks a tad evil ... no offence.

I saw a bloke in the pub with a dog last night, although I think it was actually just a wolf. It started howling a lot.

My family is actually a collision of soldiers from the classic pet battle. My mum's family are cat lovers (and so am I) and my dad's family are dog lovers (as is my sister). This is why we've had neither, I think.

Solution = get a puppy and a kitten. They will learn to get along; all of ours have. Up till our last dog died, we always had cats and dogs. Actually, we're pretty sure the dog died from heartbreak as much as old age because she was...

Regular cockroaches disappoint me. Yes, it's gross to have them infest your home and such, but I got too used to those Madagascar Hissing variety. Used to sit by two of them in high school biology, you see.

Okay, let's here it. What animals take up our attention outside of the sanctum?

Our family has three cats, Spice, Maya, and Kyrra. Spice is the oldest and, until recently, has owned me and, more specifically, the last foot of my bed. She at least 14 and hasn't so much grown old as grown cranky and tough in her old age. She now sleeps only on the heated waterbed, but occasionally gets up the energy to take one of the other two to the cleaners.
