other people- not that that's a bad thing, but I didn't want to be afraid that people wouldn't like it if they read it.

As for family: if they make fun of you, consider it training, when they stop making fun of you, you know you have a winner (that's how it works with my kid
brother). On the other hand, if all they do is dote, or say, "I liked it." you have to train them to make helpful comments. Don't ask, "what

I'm not going to let it bother me too much, actually, because when I looked it up on Wikipedia I got all these results, and the one about the ancient Sumerian city and religious center intrigues me. Maybe my
Keshin Empire is based on ancient Sumeria.

And I'm trying not to think so far ahead right now, actually, since I've discovered that, for me, writing with the intention of publishing is...

At the risk of losing a little bit of the breathtaking wonder, you could always have the bridge itself be large but not immense, and covered with only a
portion of the city, while the rest of it spills over onto both sides of the canyon. It makes more sense from an urban point of view, as every city
expands over time - perhaps back in the day the bridge was the only neighbourhood, but waves of immigrants from Kesh and Tharin set up shop on either cliff
edge? As a plus, if there's...

The bridge is made of stone. Mostly stone, anyway. The curious thing about the Great Bridge is that it appears to be both a natural phenomenon AND a man-made
