As far as classical music goes, my current favourite is Shostakovitch's Festive Overture, but William Tell is frickin' awesome at any time of the day, with any accompaniment.

Trust me, I'm so far in the dark not even a mile-wide tremorsense could save me.
Heck, I don't even know much about so called 'mainstream' bands. I'm pretty much unigenre with what I listen to.

Music..Hmm: Queen tops the board, but there are a lot of things I listen to expect for rap (there's that again.).

So Queen, FischerSpooner, Meat Loaf, DragonForce, Aina, Avantasia, Hammerfall, Orson, Mando Diao, Firewind, Thy Majestie, Status Quo... and I'm probably forgetting a lot of bands, but I'm also a person who likes one or two songs per band. So I'm not really a fan of the bands, but just of the song.

There is ofcourse also the cliché classical...

Personally, I like all genres of music in a broad sort of way. I feel that every one has something to offer. Most specifically, I like rap, electronic, and country.
