Speed Racer - WARNING MINOR SPOILERS

OK I've just seen the film. So let's sum this up:
* It is basically a live-action cartoon.
* It is a mix of the old cartoon and modern anime/videogame aesthetics.
* Said aesthetics in many cases are what you get when you let Willy Wonka make Bladerunner.
* It is FILLED with references to the old cartoon so they knew what they were doing.
* It is not a totally remake or sequel, more an homage - what the cartoon SEEMED to be to people like me who watched it...

These ads are now trying my patience. Aside from attempted google ads to stuff related vaguely to what we've been talking about, there have also been casino ads, dangerous NSFW ads, huge GLOWING BRIGHT COLOURS FLASHING flash ads, and this atrocity:

Ok, so I apologise to anyone who might be of the Scientology persuasion, but it is against our rights to inflict such an offensive ad on us. It says "facts"...

I've been invited to a con that focuses on "creativity" in general. They have some good suggestions, good connections, a good budget - and are figuring just what content to have.

So as a creative con, what would you want to see for careers, skill-building, interesting industries to get people from, etc.?

Completely Miserable Democratic Debate

Dunno if you folks saw it, but it's pretty sad. ABC produced a very tabloid-style debate that didn't get to anything substantive for 45 minutes - and one of the questioners was an ex-Clinton campaign staffer. Policies seemed to change at random, it was targeted to be sensationalistic, and it was just bad.

This is what makes me feel, as a person who is 40, that I must apologize to younger Americans for the way we "adults" left this country.

What forum is complete without an excessively-punctuated and comically misguided half-assed debate on music?

What music do you like? What Genres? What Albums? What Artists? What Songs? What Chords?

Personally, I like all genres of music in a broad sort of way. I feel that every one has something to offer. Most specifically, I like rap, electronic, and country.

A few groups that I enjoy are Groove Armada, Cracker, RHCP, The Crystal Method, Wu-Tang Clan, Paul...

Hi! I am having trouble with my grammer and 'tense's' on my story. I've posted some of it here and it was brought ot my attention. (TY) My best bud has also been kind of proofreading it as well and has noticed my tendency to be v. wordy. Is there something on the web (pref. free) that can help me with this? I've been using the standard spell/gammar check that comes with Microsoft word. Any ideas?
